The Challenge

Fighting bike theft in a city where over 120 bikes are stolen every day is no easy task. BIKEBAZE, a startup with a bold mission to reduce bike theft in Rotterdam, approached us in early 2024 with a vision: to create a community-oriented solution that combines bike registration, security technology and data insights to tackle the problem head-on. With limited resources and the need for fast, effective implementation, BIKEBAZE needed a partner who could help them get started quickly while delivering real results.

The Solution

At the start of the project, we built a low-code solution with Webflow for the front end and integrated it with Zapier and Make for database connections. This allowed BIKEBAZE to quickly test its concept and gather initial insights. We also supported the company during the test phase by running ads on TikTok, Google, Instagram and Facebook to find out which channels resonated best with the target audience.

After the test phase proved successful and BIKEBAZE gained traction, we switched from low-code to a more customized solution. While the frontend remained in Webflow due to its streamlined design and ease of use, we rebuilt the backend with Python to allow for more complex processes and integrations. This conversion allowed BIKEBAZE to scale its platform and improve the functionality of its SafeTag and BikeVault features, which secure bikes by registering them in a city-wide database.

Data Insights and the B2B Shift

As BIKEBAZE evolved, so did their product offering. Beyond individual bike security, they began offering data insights on bike theft to large stakeholders such as municipalities, insurers, and leasing companies. We are currently building a custom data dashboard, enabling BIKEBAZE to provide real-time insights into bike theft patterns—valuable data that was previously unavailable to these organizations. This not only expands BIKEBAZE’s impact but also positions them as a vital partner for businesses looking to combat theft and protect assets.

The Results

BIKEBAZE was relaunched on September 25, 2025 with a refined product and marketing strategy. The new platform and backend infrastructure allows for rapid scaling and provides users with more reliable services. We continue to support BIKEBAZE with ongoing advertising campaigns, strategy development and content creation to ensure the message reaches the right audience and the business continues to grow.
